- Larger tongue – Air has to brush past causing snoring while lying down.
- Large Adenoids – Can be a cause of snoring in children
- Small Nasal Passage – There are treatments to help clear these passages.

All of these craniofacial issues are however more likely to increase as you get more mature. You may have not snored when you were younger but as your body gets to the later on phases of its life, your muscles tend to relax and soften.
As a result this means that if you have one of the above issues, it is more likely as you get more mature that this will cause snoring to occur or in fact get worse if you already suffered from it. You can consult a local doctor or sleep expert if you believe it is becoming a big issue, and there are many solutions to try such as a snoring mouthpiece which may help to rectify the problem.
Also remember that snoring can be a sign of a more severe condition called sleep apnea, and if you have any concerns that you are sensation a lot more tired and feel that you haven’t had a good night’s sleep despite believing you have slept for the full 8 hrs, ask your physician for a sleep test to see if you have had any apneic episodes.
