A few Design Models That are Being Utilized In 2012
I am a big believer of simplicity in web design. Part of the reason for this is because I have experience in internet marketing too. The entire principle of marketing online is to inspire the visitor to your site to take an action of some sort, or a call to action. The more complicated the design of a internet site is, the more complicated it will be to tell an individual what to do next once landing on the internet site. A lot of information, color and elaborate graphics, brings about an excessive amount of confusion, and if you are to be the best web designer possible, you have to grab this fundamental concept of marketing. It is for this reason why in 2012, design has gravitated towards simplicity underlined in the 5 style I have highlighted below.
1. User focus - Look at other sites for inspiration but the key priority has to been on making sure that the user or visitor gets the information he/she wants. I will talk about navigation in a minute, but you have to lay out a structure in the beginning on the homepage which can easily separate subject matter and enable a reader browsing the web site to get to the specific page he/she needs.
2. Slogans and ribbons - These can really work simply because readers on your site will be interested in them and can easily use them to find the information on different subjects. They are big and brash and stand out
3. From a navigation point of view, once they have clicked on ribbon let say, you have to make it easy for them to navigate to other parts to your web site once they are off your main page. A neat, subtle and straightforward menu system is crucial
4. Style over substance - As I said in my introduction, an excessive amount of text and different options can lead to the visitor being confused. Direct your visitors to the part of the web site they need. Effectively hold their hand and tell them what to do next.
5. Color minimalism - Don’t overawe your visitors with too many colors or graphics. Keep it to two or three colors at the most and try to make sure that simplicity is at the heart of everything you do. Presentation can really make a big difference for marketing a website, and the best website designer will know this.
