Five Critical Questions To Ask Yourself As A Content Marketer
Content marketing has various critical aspects that you need to get right. For sure, creating quality content and disseminating it online is an essential part of any content marketing strategy but you have to keep in mind that the content has to be presented in a particular way to be at its most powerful. The motivation of the reader and how you generate user interest is very important for content marketing. Below I will underline 5 critical questions which you should ask yourself as a content marketer:
1. Am I directing my content to the right market? A very simple question to answer for most but you will be surprised how many get this wrong. You can presume too much or too little of you reader in any market you any writing in. If you are an expert in a particular market, but the people reading your content are not, you can’t presume knowledge you would have otherwise. In other cases in some niches you can assume that a certain level of understanding is there due to the specific nature of the market you are in. Research your audience and understand the market for the best written content.
2. What are they trying to get from you content? People will more than likely be looking at your content for advice and expert analysis. To this end it is critical to identify what challenges the industry or market is facing, and crucially what is the top priority in terms of future strategy.
3. Are you looking to pin point a certain problem or issue which the reader wants to rectify? This is not sales copy but you can demonstrate your knowledge on a subject and highlight the potential pitfalls. You are basically telling them about a problem they may already know about or better, one they have not thought of.
4. What is the latest trend in your market? Get ahead of the curve and talk about the latest trend within your market. Inform them of what is likely to become important in their industry in the months and years to come. They will begin to see you as an authority. Someone who they can trust to provide them with the best information on the market.
5. Are you offering them a solution? Once you have built this trust and authority, it is then time to provide a solution. People will definitely trust you for the solution after the expert analysis you have given them on a problem you have highlighted in the first place.
Always take these questions on board when developing a content marketing strategy and you will undoubtedly have a good foundation for future success on the internet.
