China cracks down on Twitter style blogging websites

The People’s Republic of China hasn’t always been a big fan of the internet, and social media, to say the the very least. They have, in the past, blocked the likes of Twitter, where your account can be managed if you utilize a Tweet Adder coupon code , as well as Facebook from being used in the country. The instructions from the Chinese federal government were that all users had to be verified before they were authorized to post on the websites. Sina however is having all of its 300million users verified and by today, they had predicted to have over 60% of their users verified. As of now though, some users are still being able to publish posts without needing any verification although it is uncertain how long this will last for.

China has been tough on dissent on such websites and has even gone as considerably as arresting people who they believe “spread false rumors” online. Keeping dissent down on the internet is China’s biggest challenge and the latest approach to validate social media accounts is the latest endeavor to exert some control.
